Dear competitors,
Music school “Josip Hatze”, under the patronage of the City of Split and Split-Dalmatia County, invites you to participate in the 20th competition DALEKI AKORDI (Distant chords) which will be held in Split and Kaštela, 23rd- 25th April, 2015.
The competition is open to wind and string players who will be asked to perform the programme listed in the competition rules.

Category propositions – violin, viola, violoncello

1st category – 10 years (born in 2005)
2nd category – 12 years (born in 2003)
3rd category – 14 years (born in 2001)
4th category – 16 years (born in 1999)
5th category – 19 years (born in 1996)

Programme – violin/viola:

1st category

    • one piece by a composer from the competitor’s own country
    • a piece from the Baroque era
    • a piece of free choice with piano accompaniment

    • one etude (etude for violin F. Fiorillo, Ch. Dancla,  P. Rode; etude for viola J. Palaschko, B. Campagnoli)

    • a piece of free choice with piano accompaniment:
      – a concert  (1st movement or 2nd and 3rd movement)
      – a sonata (two movements of different tempo and character)
      – variations on a theme (complete)
      – a cyclic piece

Double bass competition is divided into three categories

3rd category – 16 years (born in 1999)
4th category – 18 years (born in 1997)
5th category – 20 years (born in 1995)

Programme – double bass

3rd category

    • one piece by a composer from the competitor’s own country
    • one of the following sonatas: W. de Fesc: Sonata in G major or B. Marcello: Sonata F# minor  (two movements –  a fast movement and a slow movement)
    • a piece of free choice

4th category

    • one piece by a composer from the competitor’s own country
    • one of the following sonatas: H. Eccles – Sonata in a minor or A. Vivaldi – Sonata  No. 3 in h minor (two movements –  a fast movement and a slow movement)

5th category

    • one piece by a composer from the competitor’s own country
    • one of the following concerts: A. Capuzzi: Concerto in G major (cadenza J. Novosel), D. Dragonetti: Concerto in A major or any other of the same degree of difficulty (1st movement or 2nd and 3rd movement)
    • a piece of free choice

Wind instruments (woodwind and brass) competition is divided into 5 categories:

1st category – 11 years (born in 2004)
2nd category – 13 years (born in 2002)
3rd category – 15 years (born in 2000)
4th category – 17 years (born in 1998)
5th category – 19 years (born 1996)

Bassoon, euphonium and tube competition is divided into 3 categories:

3rd category – 16 years (born in 1999)
4th category – 18 years (born in 1997)
5th category – 20 years (born in 1995)

Programme – oboe, flute, trumpet, trombone, horn

1st category

    • two pieces from different stylistic periods
    • one piece by a composer from the competitor’s own country

SCORING:
1st prize:  55,0 – 60,0  points
2nd prize: 45,0 – 54,9  points
3rd prize: 35,0 – 44,9  points
diploma: 30,0 – 34,9  points

PRIZES:

The highest scoring competitor of each discipline (under the condition of having more than 58,0 points) will receive 2000kn.

ONLINE APPLICATION AND ENTRANCE FEE:
Applications to the competition are made exclusively through online application form that will be available here on our page http://www.dalekiakordi.com.

Online applications start on February 25th 2015 and finish on  March 25th 2015. It will not be possible to apply after the deadline.

Registration fees must be paid no later than 31st March. Competitors who have not paid the entrance fee before this date will be excluded from participating in the competition.
